Welcome!
I find pure pleasure in the act of painting – the movement of paint on a canvas, the mistakes that can change a piece for the better, the constant problem solving, the unknown end and even the smell of the paint.
I paint to discover more about who I am and who I may become.
I thoroughly enjoy experimenting with color as I put paintbrush to canvas, creating dark to light images through blending the colors to create depth and structure in the painting. I find joy in creating colors on canvas, that although the colors exist in nature – a sunrise or sunset that’s a color all its own; the brilliant blue of a mountain lake reflecting the sky; the dazzling red of a cardinal against a bough of pine; etc. – many people don’t necessarily notice them in nature, but they might see them in a painting. All these incredible colors intrigue me and I love introducing them to a blank, white canvas.
